Today is International Women’s Day. But, for you, everyday should be special. Indulge yourself today and every day. It need not be your birthday, anniversary, or even a milestone. Any day can be special and you can do hundred different things to treat yourself like a queen. Here are some easy ways to do so!

1. Start your day with a brisk morning walk
Early morning is the best time to take a walk in the park. It is a spiritual time of the day and a great way to relax the body and mind. Listen to some soothing music or some techno beats to walk to. Follow up with a healthy breakfast. This will set the tone for the rest of the day and make you feel great!
2. Call an old friend you haven’t spoken to in ages and yak away
This is a wonderful pick-me-up treat that won’t cost much.
3. Make a gratitude list
Enlist all the things you are thankful for. May be you can even write a blog or a poem which will help you remember all the people or things that are going so well for you today. Simply write about a person, why s/he is so special to you.
Nothing gives you a high like exercise. Do something different- go for a swim or bike away to a distant place. Indulge yourself by buying nice exercise attire that will keep you motivated. Put on an exercise DVD and do some yoga.
5. Beauty/ massage/ tanning services
You can get these at a salon or at home. Invite a friend or go alone to the spa/salon for a massage, spa treatments or beauty services like mani, pedi or facial.
6. Retail therapy
Shop for the dress or lingerie you always wanted, or even those shoes you’ve had an eye on. Simple still: buy a beautiful bouquet of flowers to gift yourself. If you are at work, decorate your workplace with fresh flowers! Better still, buy new soft, silk bed sheets-we spend half our lives sleeping so why not!
7. Watch your favorite film
Go to the cinemas or watch a film at home that you’ve always wanted to but never had the time for. Call your girlfriends over and watch the reruns on DVR.
8. House/car cleaning
This is actually a wonderful and therapeutic way to treat yourself and we guarantee you will feel so good afterwards! You can rearrange the furniture the way you like it or to make it more practical or aesthetically pleasing.
9. Volunteer for a cause
Knowing you have made a difference in someone’s life will definitely make you feel better about yourself.
Take time off work and just drive. Visit someone you have always wanted to. Or stay at a quaint little inn. Take a friend along or go alone. Drive down to the beach and collect shells. Decorate the house with your finds!
11. Decorate your home with balloons
Decorate your home with flowers and let some balloons loose in your house. Nothing to give your home a festive feel like balloons, flowers and candles! Later, you can walk down to the park and give the balloons away to passersby or kids.
12. Cook something exotic
If you like cooking, this is a fantastic way to treat yourself. Try some recipe you have always wanted to make but didn’t have the time for. Serve it on fancy chinaware. You can also cook food that you used to love as a kid. And why not have breakfast for dinner while you are at it?
13. Do some gardening
Plant a beautiful fragrant bush that will blossom and to remind you of all things nice, or simply some cheerful colored flowers. Think of the joy you will feel every time you look at them and how they will improve your yard’s look.
14. Diffuse essential oils in the room
Aromatherapy is known to uplift the senses. Buy some nice essential oils like Lavender, Jasmine, Rose or Frankincense. Diffuse them in your room and relax. You can also spray the oils on a bulb so that every time you switch it on, you get to smell the oil’s fragrance.
15. Rent a convertible for the day
Drive around town with the top down! Invite a friend or go alone. You could also hire a limo service and get them to drive you and someone special for dinner.
16. Get in bed with a good book
You can also make a tent or a fort by using some bed sheets. Add some pillows inside to make it cozy. Now crawl inside and listen to your favorite music or read Harry Potter.
17. Have a BBQ or a potluck or English tea with girlfriends
Call your girlfriends and do a recipe exchange or a potluck. You can also have English tea party-wear gloves, make cucumber sandwiches and offer a variety of teas like chamomile, jasmine or Earl Grey. Don’t forget the scones!

21. Enjoy time with your sweetie

In the afternoon, cuddle up together, go for a long walk then take a warm bath at night again. If you happen to be single, then do all these things solo!
22. Have a picnic in the park
