1. Know that life is short
Do not take your time here for granted. You want to change your life and become happier? Turn it around starting today. Understand that you have limited time on this planet. So whatever it is you’ve been procrastinating: do those things today! Wanted to bungee jump? Do it! Always wanted to start your own venture? What’s stopping you? Imaging you have only 4 weeks to live. What would you do? Write it all down and take the steps towards realizing those dreams.
2. Visualize and make positive affirmations
Daily affirmations are the best way to change your life. Start your morning with a short meditation. Even if you have never meditated before, start today. It is easy. All you need to do is close your eyes and focus on the breath. Let thoughts come and go. Gently bring your mind back to the breath. Do this for at least 5-10 minutes. Afterwards, close your eyes and repeat the following mantras over and over:
- I am amazing
- I am happy
- I am love
- I am abundance
- The Universe loves me
- I am rich
- I am successful
You must do these affirmations over and over each day to reap benefits. This morning ritual or practice has helped many people change their lives. Many people experience greater energy throughout the day and many have experienced miracles with this system.
3. Bad times shall pass
Tough times never last; but tough people do. Everything changes. Nothings lasts forever-not the good and especially not the bad. So keep your thoughts positive no matter what. Know that whatever the Universe is giving you is the best for you. Dreams do come true-just keep believing.
Never take no for an answer. Persist. Speak politely. Smile! Have the confidence that you have what it takes to be a winner. Change your attitude and keep a flexible mindset. Expect the best and it shall happen.
5. Improve your communication skills
Changing your communication for the better is one of the best ways to change your life for the better. Communication is the key to healthy relationships at home and at work. Here is a method that works very well:
Before going for an important meeting with a client, your partner or your kids meditate. Close your eyes and imagine that there is a beautiful sunflower in your heart. This sunflower is radiating warmth and that warmth envelopes everyone around it. Now imagine there is another beautiful golden sunflower in the client’s/spouse’s/kids heart. It is also full of love and warmth. Now both your sunflowers are exuding warmth and radiating love. With this thought in mind-go and meet the person with a huge smile on your face. See the difference it makes in how the meeting goes.
You can use this technique for communication with anyone and it will work each time!
6. Forgive people
There is a beautiful quote that can help you drop the anger may be holding against people. It goes like this: “Forgive people. Not because they deserve it, but because you deserve peace. Bearing anger or grudges is like a punishment you are giving yourself for someone else’s mistake. So practice forgiveness as it is a surefire way to improve relationships and change your life for the better. Understand that ‘Hating people takes too much time. Forgive them. Not because they deserve it but because you are on a higher level than they are’.
7. Know what you really want
Time for some reflection: what is it that you really want? What makes you happy? Is there something you envy in other people’s lives? Use your envious feelings to positively unearth your secret desires.
8. Network more
Go out there. Talk to people. Be seen, be heard and be known. So what if you say something stupid! Don’t be shy. Keep telling yourself ‘I am a winner!’ and ‘I am happy’ every spare moment.
9. Change your style-change your life!
You know the power of a great outfit and a great hairdo-you walk out the door and it just feels right! Are you dressing the part of a winner? Does your outfit and personal style talk about you as a successful person? Do your clothes reflect your status as a winner? Seek help of a stylist and dress as per your body shape. By wearing good clothes, you can walk out the door feeling like you can conquer the world. The net result will be a change in mindset with ramifications that will spiral out in all areas of your life!
10. Work hard for what you want the most
Stay focused on the goal but enjoy where you are now. Work hard. Love what you do and it will not seem like hard work at all! Keep repeating: I am grateful for this work, I am grateful for this success, I am grateful for this purpose in life. “I am a winner’.
11. End hurtful, toxic and negative relationships
Is your relationship bringing you down? Have you tried everything there is to nurture the relationship? If yes, then it may be time to break up and get out of the toxic relationship. It may be difficult in the beginning but soon you will see it was for the best. Sometimes subtracting the wrong things will make way to add new and positive things!
12. Keep learning, embrace changes

Take out some time daily to pursue your hobbies. Do something you are passionate about. Take a break from time to time. Go away for the weekend to recharge your batteries.

Every day, try and do something for others-it could be for people you know, or even the ones you don’t know. Charity opens you up in ways you’d never thought possible. It will certainly make you more grateful for what you have. So volunteer at a soup kitchen; feed the homeless; coach the poor kid down the street. There are many ways in which you can give.
15. Understand that there is beauty in change
Changes can be stressful but change can be beautiful too. It is a necessary part of life. Look around you-everything is constantly changing. Nature is always changing. Change helps you adjust yourself with the outlooks of the world. Just like you change your clothes daily and feel fresh and renewed, changing your thoughts and situations can help you achieve happiness, success and peace in life.
