10 Easy Ways to Straighten Hair at Home

easy ways to straighten hair at home permanently overnight

Always dreamed of having beautiful straight hair but do not wish to go for salon based chemical hair straightening treatment? Many are opting to straighten their hair naturally at home using home remedies. This is due to the fact that commercial hair straightening kits are known to contain harmful chemicals that can cause permanent damage to hair including severe hair fall. Also, salon based hair straightening treatments are very expensive and not everyone can afford them. So today we will take a look at some easy ways to straighten hair naturally and permanently at home without using heat or harmful chemicals.

1. Olive oil and egg

This is an easy hair straightening mask that can help straighten curly hair overnight. Mix half a cup of olive oil with an entire egg and whisk to combine. 2. Coconut milk and cornstarch hair straightener

This is another wonderful method to make curly hair straight naturally forever.

  • Take the juice of an entire lemon and mix it with 3 tablespoons of cornstarch. Whisk to ensure there are no lumps.
  • In a saucepan, heat coconut milk and olive oil on medium heat until you get a creamy consistency. Add the lemon and cornstarch mixture and whisk rapidly until the mixture starts to thicken. Stir continuously until you get a thick cream.
  • Cool the cream and store it in a clean glass jar. Keep the mixture refrigerated until use.
  • To use: divide the hair in sections and apply the cream to each strand. Cover up your hair with a shower cap and leave it on for 2 hours. Wash off with a mild shampoo. Repeat this treatment once a month to do permanent hair straightening at home.

As a variation, you can also add some Aloe Vera gel to the above hair straightening mask. The advantage of using this all-natural hair straightening remedy is that it not just straightens hair naturally and permanently; it also removes split ends and makes your hair softer, shinier and frizz free.

8. Honey, milk and banana

Mash a ripe banana and mix it up with some honey. Next, add a bit of milk and whisk the mixture until there are no lumps in it. Apply the mixture to sectioned hair and let it remain for 2-3 hours. Wash off with warm water to get gorgeous, naturally straight hair.

9. Mayonnaise and shampoo

This is another easy way to straighten hair at home without heat. Wash the hair first to remove oily buildup. Next, mix together 2 tablespoons of plain mayonnaise and 2-3 tsp of any antidandruff shampoo. Mix these two ingredients well. Apply the mask to wet hair and leave on for 2 hours. Cover with a shower cap. Next, wash off with warm water. You need not apply a shampoo or conditioner again. Comb the hair and dry it as usual. Your hair will be straighter, shinier and also more manageable.

10. Curlers and bobby-pins

This is a slightly uncomfortable method of straightening hair without using heat or chemicals. However, it works well and you will end up with straighter hair overnight.

You need two to three large metal curlers, a good hard bristled brush, a wide toothed comb, some hair serum and spray bottle filled with water, as well as 8-10 strong bobby pins. Section the hair and take the two largest strands that are directly on top of the head and pull them up straight. Spray some water then start rolling them around the metal curlers. Secure the curler with pins. Repeat this for the section of hair just below the top of the head. For the remaining hair, wrap the bangs sideways across the forehead. Secure with pins. You need to leave the hair in this manner for at least 8 hours. Next morning, remove the pins and curlers and style and part your hair as usual. Your hair will be smoother and straighter.
