The humble banana has more uses than you would think.
Emergency shoe shiner
Rub your leather shoes with the soft inside of a banana skin. Then clean and buff the surface with a tissue or napkin. Shines lovely.
Fertilizer
Banana skins make a great additive to your compost pile. They are high in potassium and phosphorus. You can also bury the skins directly under the surface of the soil around your rose bushes.
Clean house plants
Rub the soft inside of a banana skin over the leaves of your houseplants. It will add a shine and remove dust at the same time.
Curing a wart
Rub the wart with the inside of a banana skin. The inside of the banana contains potassium apparently and this will get rid of the wart.
