Spaghetti and tomato sauce and regular tomato stains are one of the most often found stains in the laundry. These can be tough stains but not impossible and you will find the following will work most of the time. Wet the fabric where you have a stain and then sprinkle with powdered dish detergent. (that you would use in the dish washer) Scrub the area gently with a toothbrush and then rinse the item and launder as you normally would.

Hanging the wet item out in the sun will remove any left over stain as the sun bleaches out the stain. An example of this being successful was kindly sent into the site:

My son dropped a plate of spaghetti on my white throw rug, we took the rug outside and placed it in the sun and the stain is now gone.
